Dexter Marsh-Taylor is an experimental filmmaker from the San Francisco Bay Area. He uses archival media, slow cinema, and narrative methods to investigate family history, nostalgia, and emotional geography. Dexter and I discuss his film, Not An Orphan, which is an experimental documentary film featuring found footage of his mother and other family members. We also touch on other influential filmmakers, his filmmaking process, his inspirations, and his works in progress.
